HIGH-VALUE PERSONAL ITEMS

Value calls for a specific conversation.

An expensive watch, important original document or heirloom cannot be treated as an ordinary addition to a suitcase. Describe the item before sharing sensitive evidence or agreeing a movement.

Establish the item and your authority.

Start with category, purpose, approximate value and route. Be prepared to establish lawful ownership or permission and who may receive it. Do not send passwords, unnecessary identity images or sensitive contents photographs in public messages.

Precious contents are outside ordinary baggage intake.

Currency, negotiable instruments, bullion, precious stones, jewellery and similar high-risk valuables need separate written acceptance. Requests may be declined or require a specialist route. A garment bag or premium hand-carry label does not remove this restriction.

Match custody to the actual risk.

Agree authorised release and receipt, suitable packing, seals where relevant, handover records and necessary information sharing. A seal may identify a package but cannot lawfully prevent customs or security examination. Discuss sensitivity before committing.

Separate value, liability and insurance.

Declaring value helps assessment; it does not establish cover or full-value repayment. Review the accepted liability terms and any separately arranged insurer policy. Do not assume cash, jewellery or sentimental value can be insured through an ordinary baggage quote.

Keep travel-critical originals with you.

For any other proposed original-document movement, discuss copies, timing, recipient authority and the consequence of delay. BLACK does not certify legal delivery requirements or guarantee a filing deadline. The team will assess whether the item is suitable.

Is jewellery movement automatically offered?+

No. It needs a separate written assessment of lawful documents, custody, route and risk; acceptance is not assured.

Can confidential items avoid inspection?+

No. Customs, security or lawful authorities may require examination. Discuss confidentiality needs before acceptance.
