PERSONAL GIFTS
A meaningful gift, with a considered handover.
An outfit for a family celebration, books for someone you care about or a carefully chosen personal gift can deserve more coordination than a simple address label. Start with the actual gift and when someone can receive it.
Describe the gift inside the wrapping.
Tell the team the item, material, approximate value and packed size or weight. Clothing, books and selected non-regulated personal items may be assessed. Attractive wrapping does not identify contents or make a fragile, restricted or high-value item automatically acceptable.
Work from a practical occasion deadline.
Give the birthday, anniversary or family-event date together with a usable receiving window. If possible, allow time for the recipient to check the package. An occasion date is a planning input; it does not create an automatic delivery guarantee or compensation promise.
Arrange a person who can receive it.
For a surprise, agree a trusted authorised contact rather than relying on an unattended doorstep or hotel desk. Provide necessary recipient details through the secure workflow. The delivery plan needs permission and a reachable person even when the gift itself is a surprise.
Protect the gift during its own journey.
Decorative boxes or shopping bags may need stronger external packing and internal support. Explain delicate components before the quote. Gift wrapping, personalised cards, assembling hampers and other presentation services are included only if specifically agreed.
Treat food, liquids and valuables separately.
Declare sweets, food, flowers, perfume, aerosols, batteries, alcohol, jewellery and other unusual contents before confirmation. These categories can have different acceptance, temperature, legal and packing requirements. BLACK does not promise blanket hamper, perishable or valuable-item acceptance.
Keep value and cross-border questions clear.
A gift is not automatically insured, duty free or exempt from documents. International movement requires its own origin/destination review. Any return after a missed or declined receipt is a separately reviewed instruction, not a complimentary part of every gift quote.
Can a gift be sent as a surprise?+
Discuss an authorised receiving contact and practical window with the team. The delivery must still have lawful instructions and a reachable recipient.
Are food hampers or perfumes automatically accepted?+
No. Declare exact contents for individual review before packing or collection is confirmed.
