A new chapter, with less to carry.
Moving for study, returning home or travelling with family can mean more than everyone can comfortably carry. A bag-by-bag plan makes assessment easier without making the enquiry complicated.
Sort by what is needed immediately.
Keep documents, essential medicine, keys and the first day’s needs with the traveller. Identify remaining clothing, books and belongings that can move separately. Provide piece counts and approximate weights rather than treating all family luggage as one unknown total.
Check campus or accommodation receipt.
A hostel, residence or university office may have limited receiving hours or require permission. Provide a reachable authorised contact and exact delivery address. Do not assume a security desk will accept or store bags without an arrangement.
Describe purchases and equipment honestly.
Declare electronics, batteries, liquids, food and fragile study items. New goods, gifts and professional or commercial equipment can need different documents, particularly across a border. Submit relevant evidence securely only when requested for the assessed shipment.
Coordinate family instructions.
Record authority if a parent or relative releases or receives the pieces. Keep room details, identities and itineraries out of public comments and links. Use the secure workflow for full addresses and any required documents.
Treat relocation concessions separately.
Moving for study or family reasons does not automatically provide a customs exemption, student discount or free baggage allowance. Applicable rules and the actual goods determine any entitlement. PORTADOR assesses logistics without determining a customs concession.
Is a student discount automatic?+

Can a parent arrange the request?+
Yes, with authority and accurate sender and recipient information. A minor traveller’s logistics should be coordinated by an appropriate authorised adult.
